Texas Workforce Commission Skills Development Fund: Aerospace Consortium II Program (SDF)
San Jacinto College received a $607,185 grant from the Texas Workforce Commission’s Skills Development Fund program to provide workforce training to a consortium of 12 aerospace contractor companies who support NASA-Johnson Space Center. Over the course of one year, this program will facilitate 48 classes in advanced topics such as Space System Verification & Validation, Cost Estimating, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing. Upon completion of the program, at least 512 trainees will have participated in one or more courses. The skill sets which industry employees will gain from this training opportunity will enable the Houston region’s aerospace industry to adapt and respond to changing demands and new needs as the American space program sets its sights on new goals.
