Atmospheric Science Resources

Hurricane: Storm Science is an atmospheric science module that is currently being field tested in elementary school classrooms.  The results from these tests will be used to construct a teacher’s guide.

NASA Global Hydrology and Climate Center includes animated real-time global weather patterns.  Appropriate for all age groups.

U.S. National Weather Service is the U.S. National Weather Service interactive web site.  The site includes weather animations that allow students to examine real-time local, national and worldwide weather patterns.  Appropriate for all age groups.

The NOAA Central Library Teachers' and Students' Corner provides links to over 100 National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) educational sites as well as links to many other earth, ocean, and atmospheric educational sites.  Appropriate for all age groups.

Tornado Project Online includes data and descriptive information on tornadoes to assist students in the creation of reports for science, social studies, or other classes.  Appropriate for all age groups.

Tropical Weather includes global satellite imagery and other information specifically targeted at hurricanes, typhoons, and tropical storms and depressions.  Appropriate for all age groups.
